The Rural Dweller Scheme is a new pilot programme, based on the Rural Social Scheme, offering part-time paid work to people living in rural areas of County Louth.
Participants work 19.5 hours per week on community and environmental projects such as village maintenance and caretaking of community facilities, and continue to receive their social welfare payment plus a weekly top-up.
Who can apply?
- You live in a rural area of County Louth
- You are aged between 50 and 66
- You receive a qualifying social welfare payment
- You are available to work 19.5 hours per week
